Mental Health Counselling in Georgetown

What to Expect

OUR APPROACH

At Healing Path Counselling Services, we offer mental health counselling in Georgetown. Our primary approach used is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) which looks at challenging and changing unhelpful thoughts, emotions and behaviours and creating positive coping strategies. This evidence-based therapy is most useful for mood disorders such as anxiety and depression. It is also helpful for developing positive self-esteem, healthy relationships, managing stress or burn-out, and trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress through exposure. For school-aged children, this is modified to be primarily play-based.

Other modalities utilized that compliment CBT are somatic experiencing therapy, emotion-focused, strengths-based, solution-focused, systems, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness therapies. Additionally, Sabrina is trauma informed, is trained in Critical Incident Stress Debriefing and works with First Responders.

Sabrina is a registered social worker and has been practicing for 20+ years having completed a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Toronto.

We offer both in-person and virtual appointments by phone or video.

Individual Counselling and Therapy
